Drežnik Grad is a medieval fortress near the old town of Slunj and in the immediate vicinity of Croatian National Park Plitvice Lakes (UNESCO World Heritage), Municipality of Rakovica. The fortress, which is situated on a cliff above a steep canyon of the Korana river, which arose from Plitvice Lakes, until recently was almost entirely in ruins. Actually the North Tower, which has a round base, is completely bricked in, while some parts of ruined fortress jutting out of the bushes. Most maintenance activities are managing by the local population, who is also involved in the cleanup actions of the Korana River canyon. During the Camp we will meet and assist local associations. It will be organized also cultural public events and sightseeing with “special guides” to the old town of Slunj and the miller settlement of Rastoke, to the Barać Caves, to the Plitvice Lakes (real “jewel of nature”) and, after entering in Bosnia-Herzegovina, sightseeing of the town of Bihać and wonderful “Emerald Valley” of Una River. Furthermore during the camp will be realized a screening into the accessibility to sustainable tourism services.
